We were contacted by Random International to see if we could help them with the issue of flow monitoring for their incredible Rain Room installation at the Shanghai Yuz Museum; we duly obliged and supplied various Sika VMM flow sensors for the application.
Originally opened in 2012 at the Barbican Centre in London, the Rain Room then moved on to New York and is now on display in China at the Shanghai Yuz Museum. The installation offers the viewer the unique experience of walking through a room of falling water without getting wet and this is achieved by a myriad of sensors controlling valves, the water then falls through grids on the floor and is treated,recycled and pumped back into the system.
